WELCOME

The Timbwani Baptist Primary School was established in order to serve the children living in the sprawling slum of Likoni, in the south coast of Mombasa, Kenya. These children were not attending school due to the extreme poverty of their families.

Reverend Ombeva of the local baptist church knew that without an education, these children would never break the cycle of poverty. And so, Timbwani Baptist Primary School was founded.

For these children, the ability to attend school and receive knowledge, food, hope, and nurturing interactions with caring teachers and volunteers is invaluable. Their education is their empowerment.

The mission of Timbwani Baptist Primary School is to provide quality and affordable education to vulnerable and at-risk children in order to lay the foundation for future self reliance.

With the motto “Service to God and My Country,” the Timbwani Baptist Primary School encourages faith and trust in God. As part of the government sponsored curriculum, the children attend Christian Religious Education class or Islamic Religious Education class. Islam is a major religion in Kenya, and the school welcomes children of all faiths.
